On The Avenue

by Garden District Trio

Jeff Lashway, Ed Wise and David Hansen as it turns out is a stellar combination of pure musical bliss. These three hold their own with intricate arrangements, amazing harmony, rhythmic distinctions and a musical blend that keeps you listening and wanting more. They have found a balance that brings so much joy and pleasure to those lucky enough to hear them perform live.
The energetic rhythms with an authentic smile from Hansen has labeled him “Smiley” by many of his peers. If you see him perform you can see the million dollar smile is genuine and he really enjoys what he does behind those drums. The manner in which Lashway harmonizes his interpretations of well-known standards renders them brand new and has you wanting to hear him play the songs again. His style, technique and performance is at a level rarely achieved. Articulate, polished with a touch of perfection could describe how Wise carries himself at the bass. His vintage bass is the envy of the most elite classical musicians and does he ever find and create the most beautiful tone and impressive solos.
The musicians would like to extend their gratitude to the Hillstone Restaurant Group, Houston’s Restaurant and the great guests who have all been there to support this spectacular jazz ensemble.
The talented Morgan Harlan created the cover design for this project.
